Krabi, Thailand, with Mountain Adventure Travels
Limestone Cliffs, Jungle Pools and Strangers Who Became Friends

When our group from Singapore boarded the plane, the limestone skyline of Krabi Thailand, was already calling. Mountain Adventure Travels had crafted a six-day journey that mixed islands, forest, temples, Thai food, and quiet rest without rushing a single moment.

From Singapore, we landed and were whisked to Ao Nang. The next morning, Mountain Adventure Travels put us on a longtail for the Four Islands tour: Chicken Island (Koh Kai) with its distinctive rock, Poda Island’s long white beach, Tup Island and the famous low-tide sandbar of Talay Waek, plus Phra Nang Cave Beach. Later we reached Railay Beach itself—iconic streets of climbing shops, wooden walkways and towering cliffs that feel cut off from the mainland.

Beachside lunches of tom yum, grilled prawns, green curry, som tam and mango sticky rice introduced us to real Thai food. Inland, Krabi, Thailand changed character. A short forest walk led to the glowing Emerald Pool; nearby hot springs soothed tired legs. Mountain Adventure Travels then guided us to kayak the Crystal Pool, where the water was so clear we watched fish glide beneath every paddle stroke. Tiger Cave Temple followed—1,260 steep steps, curious monkeys, and a quiet hilltop Buddha.

A free afternoon brought traditional Thai massages that melted every muscle after the climbs and swims. The good team from Mountain Adventure Travels kept vans, boats, and meals running smoothly so we could simply enjoy Krabi, Thailand.

Leaving Krabi, Thailand felt too soon. Strangers become friends on a trip like this. We flew home, already planning the next Mountain Adventure Travels adventure
